bulbDo your actions reflect a Christian life? Are you easy to anger and quick to rudely correct?

These are things most of us struggle with. We justify our actions by saying that we are living a truly god and Christian life. We haven’t killed anyone. We pay our taxes. We don’t steal. These are all great things that keep with keeping the commandments, but are we carrying the efforts forth in what we do. Take a look at what scripture says.

1 peter  3:15-18

Sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts.

Always be ready to give an explanation

to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope,

but do it with gentleness and reverence,

keeping your conscience clear,

so that, when you are maligned,

those who defame your good conduct in Christ

may themselves be put to shame.

For it is better to suffer for doing good,

if that be the will of God, than for doing evil.

For Christ also suffered for sins once,

the righteous for the sake of the unrighteous,

that he might lead you to God.

Put to death in the flesh,

he was brought to life in the Spirit.

Peter reminds his readers that the only compelling argument about the Christian life is the argument of a life truly lived in a Christian way.Love which is unselfish, undying, and wholly directed to the good of others. It is love that unites us in an unbreakable bond of fidelity and fellowship with others. Jesus loved his own until the very end of his passion and death on the cross (John 13:1). From the very beginning of creation God said: it is not good that man should be alone (Genesis 2:18).

We were created in love for love – to be a community of loving persons, just as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are united in love.
