One post stood out it. It was from a woman who the country has come to known via national media. She was moved to write the following. Please read Ms Boynes words below.- Oretha Winston- Lead Editor Elev8.com

I’m excited about what God is doing in the Church today.  Isaiah 43:19 (NLV) says: See, I will do a new thing.  It will begin happening now!!  My story is an example of the new thing that He is doing.  I lived a lesbian lifestyle for 14 years and I have been called OUT for the last 16 years.  No, I am not suppressing my lesbian feelings, and I am not lying to myself; I have been set free from homosexuality.  The Bible supports my experience as well as the young man’s in the video.  In 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, the apostle Paul said that God has washed and made them into new people after having formerly lived as adulterers, homosexuals etc.…

I do have mixed emotions regarding the video that has gone viral from the Church of God in Christ.  I am not at all surprised that unbelievers have made a mockery of what happened at the altar with this young man, and quite frankly, I don’t think it was wise to air it or post it on any media sites unless Andrew Caldwell wanted it so.  As someone who ministers in this area of homosexuality, I have seen many lives changed and transformed by the power of Jesus.  Nor you or I have the right to say that what he experienced was farce.  I have heard him on a recent radio show interview and he stands by what he said on the video.  I truly believe that what the devil meant for evil by ridiculing Andrew, God will turn it around for our good.

“You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good.  He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people” Genesis 50:20.

Many of us who minister to those men and women who desire to walk away from homosexuality, are sometimes disappointed that Black churches are afraid of using their pulpits to say people can be delivered from homosexuality and if they do then they are mocked.  I get it, the topic is a sensitive one.  Although we might not agree entirely with the black church’s methods or perhaps style, I don’t believe they were making fun of or embarrassing Andrew whatsoever.   I saw a group of men who surrounded him and showed him that they were celebrating what God had begun in his life.  If he was renouncing porn or drugs then this would not have been an issue.  Again, in the Bible we see many occasions when a sinner came bowing before Jesus and emotionally confessing their sin .  The Christian church needs to stand with him and others who are dealing with the same temptations.  As Christians it is our responsibility to pray for Andrew but also for the church so that they don’t become a target of the LGBTQ community.  Let’s pray that godly men will gather around this young man and help him walk out his journey.  The church should rejoice with Andrew because once he was blind but now he sees!  I believe there are other ministries like mine out there who are doing just that.  For those who are using this video to hurt the church, know that we will not be silenced.
