Jeralean Talley is 115 years old! She was born May 23, 1899 in Montrose, Ga., and moved to Michigan in 1935. Her husband, Alfred Talley, died in 1988.
Mother Talley, is also know as The Supercentenarian. She has seen three centuries, and still seems to be going strong. The Gerontology Research Group, which tracks some of the oldest people in the world says She is officially believed to be the second oldest person in the world, after another woman in Japan.
The centenarian lives with her 76-year-old daughter in the same house she has lived in since the 1960s. According to the Detroit Free Press, Talley has been active in her old age and only gave up bowling at 104. That was only 11years ago.
She has Five generations of the family are living in the area, including Talley’s 14-month great-great-grandson, Armmell Holloway. Talley lights up around him, smiling when she talks to him. In earlier years. she often sewed. Now, Talley spends much of the day watching television or looking out the window and loves to play with her great-great-grandson.
She is very religious, still attends church when she can, and lives by the motto: Treat others the way you want to be treated.
