James Brown was Born May 3, 1933 in South Carolina
The dynamic Soul singer gained success for his powerful song “I Got You (I Feel Good)”. Rolling Stone magazine ranked him number 7th on their list of the 100 greatest artists of all time. In earlier years He lived with his aunt. after being released from prison for robbery, he became a gospel singer. Known as The Godfather of Soul he was a social voice with the 1968 hit, “Say It Loud-I’m Black and I’m Proud.”
