Today we shine the spotlight on Actress Lupita Nyong’o!
Lupita Amondi Nyong’o was born March 1, 1983, in Mexico. She is a Kenyan actress, music video director and now an Academy Award winner for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in 12 Years a Slave. Lupita’s collection of awards also includes the Screen Actors Guild and Critics Choice Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role, in addition to receiving nominations for the Golden Globe and the BAFTA Award for Best Supporting Actress.
During her acceptance speech last night at The Oscars, Lupita quoted: “When I look down at this golden statue, may it remind me and every little child that no matter where you’re from your dreams are valid.”
