Today we say goodbye to a historic figure in Philadelphia’s political scene. Former Philadelphia City Councilwoman Augusta “Gussie” Clark, was only the 2nd African-American female elected to serve as a City Councilwoman, a position she held for two decades.
Even though she was from Alabama, she spent most her adult life in Philly and called it home.
Rest in peace former Philadelphia City Councilwoman Augusta “Gussie” Clark, whom passed away at the age of 81. Please keep her family and friends in your prayers.
