The contract between the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers and the school district expired on Saturday. Both parties met yesterday and the teachers say no to pay cuts of 5 percent to 13 percent. Negotiations will resume today, which is the first day for teachers. Students are scheduled to report on Sept. 9.

What are your thoughts, should the teachers agree to a pay cut in order for our Philadelphia public schools to reopen, fully staffed?
