Wednesday morning around 10:30 a.m. a 4-story building in Center City, which was in the process of being demolished, collapsed onto a two-story building right next door; which housed a Salvation Army Thrift Store, killing 6 and injuring 14. The 14th person, a 61-year-old woman, was found alive 13-hours later after the building collapsed.

Earlier reports from Philadelphia Police indicate that the collapse may have been the result of an industrial accident, as construction crews were working on the nearby structure. The city’s Department of Licenses and Inspections said there were no violations on the building and the demolition company had the proper permits for the work they were doing. OSHA officials said they were aware of the incident and would be launching an investigation. The Department of Labor is also investigating.
