The snow is falling! The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory to go in effect at 4 p.m. Friday and last until 1 a.m. Saturday. We can expect a coating to an inch or two of snow; with up to 3 inches south of the city. And around midnight, the snow is expected to taper off.

PennDot road crews have been getting ready for the snow by spraying the roadways with salt solution. However, because it’s so cold, it can take the salt some time to work, which will make it a slippery ride.

Therefore, remember these tips:

  • Slow down, take it easy and be patient
  • Just because you have an SUV or a front-wheel drive vehicle, does not make you invincible. Stop it! Black ice is black ice no matter what you are in!
  • Keep a good distance between you and the car in front of you
  • Don’t slam on your breaks!

Hopefully these friendly reminders will bless you for your ride through in the snow!
