Did you know that in America on any given night, there are between 700,000 to 2 million people homeless? With these startling facts the most affected is families. Homelessness amongst families are the fastest growing epidemic in our population. The family structure is being challenged everyday with these economical times we live in.
SheCares, Inc. and Greenelyte Entertainment are back another year to help those in need with the “In Need of Love” campaign. The “In Need of Love” campaign was founded by Desiree “Dezzie” Neal of Philly Praise 103.9FM and Praise Charlotte 100.9FM. As a national Christian radio personality and recording artist, Dezzie has decide to use her platform to help and bring awareness to the key issues such as homelessness amongst other social issues faced in our area.
This is the second year for the campaign. Last year, the “In Need of Love” campaign donated and furnished a room with a family entertainment package of a 50 inch LCD TV, a Nintendo Wii bundle and a DVD player with ten DVDs at a local shelter. This year, our goal is to raise $10,000 to equip five shelters in Greater Philadelphia area with family entertainment rooms.
