The youngest daughter of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Rev. Bernice King is now the new Chief Executive Officer for the King Center; replacing Martin Luther King III, the oldest son of King. The Atlanta-based King Center made the announcement Monday. This move gives Bernice King more say over the day-to-day operations of the King Center.

Last year, Bernice King, 48, stepped down as an elder at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia and said then she wanted to pursue the calling God had for her life.

Rev. Bernice King will also be speaking at the 2nd Annual Inspiration and Music Conference, Saturday, March 10th. For more info. go to http://www.praisephilly.com.
