Joe Paterno the long time head coach of the Penn State Nittany Lions was fired due to his lack of communication in conjunction with the Jerry Sandusky scandal. On November 4, 2011, former Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky was indicted Sandusky on 40 counts of sex crimes against young boys from 1994 through 2009. An alleged 20 incidents took place while Sandusky was still employed at Penn State, including assistant coach Mike McQueary walking in on Sandusky having anal intercourse with a ten-year-old boy. Paterno, who holds the record for the most victories by an FBS football coach with 409, leaves with a stained legacy that will never be clean even long after he is gone.
