Even though Bishop Eddie Long recently settled to avoid trial in a sexual misconduct case against him, Bishop Long could be called to testify about a burglary that took place in his office at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church; if a burglary case goes to trial.

A former security guard Anthony Boyd, who worked at the Atlanta mega-church, is accused of breaking into Long’s office in June of last year, stealing an iPhone, iPad, and $100,000 worth of jewelry and electronics. Boyd pleaded not guilty to the burglary charges in court on Tuesday; even though investigators said security cameras captured video of two men using a key to gain entry to the office. Boyd was identified as one of those men.

Before the sex lawsuit went public, Bishop Long had asked the Dekalb County district attorney to drop the burglary charges against Boyd and the other man, but his request was denied.

Boyd says, “He wants to fight these charges and these accusations.” Boyd’s attorney says that if the case goes to trial, which he expects it to, Bishop Long will likely be called to the stand.
