A school in New Jersey is being sued by a family for the ‘Under God’ phrase in the Pledge of Allegiance because the family is arguing that the phrase discriminates against atheist children.  The lawsuit was filed in court last month and was just announced yesterday.  The organization American Humanist Association says that the phrase singles out the atheist and humanist kids and makes them feel less of a patriot.  The school district attorney mentions that there is no requirement for children to participate in the Pledge of Allegiance, but state law requires for the schools to recite the pledge daily and individuals can decline if they choose.  To read more click the link below..
