When I think of the word etiquette the immediate thought that comes to mind is my grandmother standing over me as a child at the dinner table asking me if my elbows are attached to her table. Hahaha. “Gram, I love you for everything you tought me.” Now let’s consider what the word of God actually says about having good Christian etiquette. The following verses support this thought:

Colossians 4:5-6 ESV

Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.

1 Corinthians 14:40 ESV

But all things should be done decently and in order.

Philippians 4:5 ESV

Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand;

Proverbs 1:1-33 ESV

The proverbs of Solomon, son of David, king of Israel: To know wisdom and instruction, to understand words of insight, to receive instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness, justice, and equity; to give prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the youth— Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance,

Leviticus 19:32 ESV

“You shall stand up before the gray head and honor the face of an old man, and you shall fear your God: I am the Lord.

Romans 14:16 ESV

So do not let what you regard as good be spoken of as evil.
