Lately I’ve been on a huge mason jar kick, I don’t know if it’s just because they are so cute, or if it is their old school charm, or just because they are everywhere, but whatever the reason – I’m hooked. I’ve made salads, jelly and stored soup and tomato sauce inside, but as the snow was falling outside my window the other day I began to dream of more uses for my cute and quirky mason jars. Then it came to me, use them to serve hot chocolate.

I immediately found a pot and fired up the stove. My feet moved quickly as I ran through the kitchen. I began pouring out milk, heavy cream, semi-sweet chocolate morsels, marshmallows and melted them all in one big pot. As I was stirring this beautiful concoction my excitement increased. This was going to be the best hot chocolate ever. Once it came to temperature I turned off the burner and took out my mason jars. I found chocolate sauce and drizzled it inside each cute jar to add to the presentation, then filled the mason jars with the hot chocolate mixture. Each little jar was topped off with whipped cream, more marshmallows, chocolate sauce and then presented to my family. I felt so much pride as I watched my winter worn family enjoying my creations.
