Cell phone use during commercial flights is coming soon to an airline near you! Thanks to the FCC, which has moved closer to ending the ban on in-flight cell phone calls, we won’t be able to fly the friendly skies to or from our destinations because of phone yakking!
FCC Commissioner Tom Wheeler says not to get it twisted, they are not the Federal ‘Courtesy’ Commission and that new technology removes the technical justification of banning cell phones in-flight.
The commission’s vote only opens the matter for public comment. However, if approved, Wheeler did say that airlines could have the choice to allow for passengers to use their cell phone for browsing the web or texting, instead of voice calls!
