According to a press conference held by Mayor Michael Nutter and Deputy Commissioner Richard Ross around 1:20PM today, a 6-year-veteran police officer of the 25th district was shot in the abdomen shortly before noon today in the Hunting Park area; following a police stop, that ended in a struggle in a local store between the suspect and several officers.
One officer was shot and is currently in ER at Temple University Hospital. The identity of the 41-year-old officer has not been released at this time. The 31-year-old suspect is in custody. Please keep the officer and his family in your prayers.
