Whitney Houston’s publicist announced yesterday that the funeral for the songbird is expected to be made available for television and web streaming from the New Jersey church where she grew up. Only one camera will be allowed in the church for the private ceremony; however, the media will not be allowed.
Out of the 1500 “invitation only” seats at the funeral, the list of celebrities and personalities include Bishop T.D. Jakes, Bebe & CeCe Winans, Whitney’s cousin and singer Dionne Warwick, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Valerie Simpson of the duo Ashford & Simpson, Ray J, Brandy, Chaka Khan and Antonio “L.A.” Reid.
Gospel singer and pastor Marvin Winans will do the eulogy and the funeral will begin at noon.
According to Whitney’s publicist, Kristen Foster, The Associated Press will be allowed a camera at the Saturday ceremony in Newark. The AP will stream the service on their website at http://www.livestream.com/aplive. The event also will be available to broadcasters via satellite.
