Last night’s 5th Annual BET Honors event brought together our favorite celebs to pay tribute to achievements of legends in the fields of music, literature, entertainment, media, service, and education.

To be in the same room with Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Maya Angelou, and Spike Lee who were  honored at last night’s taping at Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. was an awesome experience.  Common, Jennifer Hudson, Aretha Franklin, Queen Latifah, Willow Smith, and Jill Scott, were also on hand to salute the honorees.

The night was made extra special with a first-time appearance by First Lady Michelle Obama who was in attendance to introduce poet Maya Angelou.  I was impressed with the fact that she stayed for the entire show!!!!

The special will air during Black History Month on February 13. Take a look at who rocked the red carpet, delivered tributes, and more inside!

The most inspired moment for me was the Beverly Kearney’s story!  OMG!!! After hearing and seeing her, I feel that there is no obstacle that can hinder what God has ordained me to do.  I can’t wait until you see the BET Honors!!!

PLUS!!!! we MET the BABY…. Master Moroccan Scott Cannon… wow!!!

An AWESOME night!!
